Artemisia Gentileschi artworks, Prints & More
Artemisia Gentileschi’s artworks are renowned for their depictions of female figures, and particularly the naturalistic style she achieved.
Born in Rome in 1593, Artemisia was a trailblazer for female artists. Living and working in a time where there were few opportunities for female artists, Artemisia rose to become one of the most celebrated practitioners of the seventeenth century. Already producing professional work at the age of 15, Artemisia specialised in the Baroque style and her works are displayed in esteemed galleries across the world, including here at the National Gallery.
