Manet to Picasso (PB)
An attractive picture book that introduces readers to the National Gallery's remarkable holdings of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings - a collection that is the envy of museums and galleries around the world.
Manet to Picasso begins with a short introduction, then followed by 38 illustrated picture notes, arranged chronologically by artist. Included are masterpieces such as Manet's Corner of a Cafe-Concert, Monet's Water-Lily Pond, Gallen-Kallela's Lake Keitele and Cezanne's Bathers, as well as rarely seen loans from private collections.
This book was published to mark 'Manet to Picasso: A Redisplay of Modern Masters from the National Gallery Collection', which attracted over one million visitors during 2006/7 - one of the most popular exhibitions in the history of the National Gallery.
