An exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive event manager to join The National Gallery - as we celebrate our bicentenary year with a programme of high-profile exhibitions, and look ahead to the reopening of the Sainsbury Wing in Spring 2025 with newly designed event spaces.

The Hospitality & Events Manager will be responsible for the delivery of venue-hire and corporate events within the galleries, alongside commercial filming/photography projects and pop-up hospitality experiences. Sitting within the hospitality & events operations function, this position will focus upon smooth event delivery and relationship management with clients, corporate sponsors, accredited suppliers, and internal stakeholders. The role will additionally support the commercial sales function with enquiries as and when required, more so with logistically complex events, aiding the wider team to meet financial targets.

We are seeking an individual with operational event management experience and a proven track record in positively managing client relationships. They should have excellent organisational and planning skills, the ability to manage a varied workload, and a diplomatic approach. An interest in the wider cultural sector and knowledge of the unique venue market would be advantageous.

The Commercial Services Supervisor ensures that the Gallery delivers the highest level of guest experience and customer service, and acts as the first point of contact for escalated enquiries. You will manage the day-to-day operations of a team of Commercial Services Assistants who resolve all guest enquiries and support the work of Commercial Services with internal stakeholders, being able to troubleshoot front and back of house Ticketing, Membership and Ecommerce queries.

In this role you will coordinate all Travel Trade activities, manage sales enquiries, ensure prompt financial processing and provide administrative support to the Commercial Events teams.

National Gallery Global Limited (NGG) is a commercial company established to provide revenue for the National Gallery from a range of operations including Retail, Publishing, Marketing, Commercial Services, E-Commerce, Venue Hire and Catering. Our work enhances the visitor experience and helps to safeguard some of the country’s most valuable works of art. The Retail team makes a key contribution towards achieving the commercial objectives of NGG. 

We have part-time vacancies for Retail Assistant, based in one of the National Gallery’s retail shops. The details are: 

  • Friday - 16.10 - 21.10, 
  • Sat/Sun – 10:00 – 15:00 / 13.10 - 18.10

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a commercial retail environment and a genuine love of selling, together with excellent customer service skills. The candidate will also be sales focused and driven to achieving store targets without hard selling. An interest in art and art history is an advantage.

Vacancy for Head of Hosted Guest Experience

This is a truly unique opportunity for an experience Head of Hosted Guest Experience to play a lead role in the delivery of an exceptional Front of House experience at one of London's most iconic cultural institutions. 

The Guest Experience teams sit within National Gallery Global, the commercial arm of the National Gallery, and is dedicated to presenting, refining and delivering world-class experiences and services to all onsite visitors, guests, and stakeholders. The Head of Hosted Guest Experience will play a pivotal role in leading the Guest Experience teams to deliver a seamless guest journey to our visitors, building guest loyalty, revenue and engagement, and exceeding expectations in all commercial touchpoints. 

 

This role will lead NGG teams in delivering exceptional front-of-house services to enhance guest loyalty, revenue, and return visitation, while forstering  collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop a unified approach to guest engagement.
